"Delicious"

Mauzac Roux, made from 100% Mauzac grapes, has a lovely light yellow color and a nose with notes of white flowers (verbena, lime blossom) and hints of honey. It is lively on the palate, with notes of honey accompanied by aromas of citrus zest. Delicious with a good tarte tatin!

Wine rating (2023 guide) 93/100 (2020 vintage)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

The Plageoles family has left its mark on the recent history of wine in Gaillac. Robert, then Bernard and Myriam, who brilliantly took over from him, were pioneers in defending local grape varieties and traditional winemaking techniques. The baton is gradually being passed on to Bernard's sons, Florent and Romain, who are wholeheartedly committed to the twelve varieties grown in their vineyard, including the delicious Prunelart, the extremely rare Verdanel, and the four varieties of Mauzac (green, red, pink, and black). Unfazed by trends and unconventional, the estate continues to produce exclusively single-varietal wines with strong personalities. This work of the mind, heart, and hands is fully reflected in a range of vintages that strive for purity, integrity, and originality.
