Domaines Chermette (ex Domaine du Vissoux)

Domaines Chermette (formerly Domaine du Vissoux) is run by Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette, who pioneered the development of integrated viticulture in Beaujolais, and who are now accompanied by their son Jean-Étienne, who has been developing his own range under the name Jean-Étienne Chermette since 2018.

They run the Domaines Chermette vineyard, which covers 30 hectares, including one hectare of Chardonnay, using alternative viticulture: an intermediary between integrated viticulture and organic viticulture. Pierre-Marie Chermette's aim is to intervene as little as possible in both vine-growing and winemaking. In this way, the Domaines Chermette terroir can express itself authentically in each of his cuvées. "We want to obtain healthy, fully-ripened grapes in order to make the most natural wine possible", this is the philosophy that prevails at the domaine.
Domaines Chermette wines are matured in a beautiful vaulted cellar with large oak tuns, built by Pierre-Marie Chermette's great-grandfather, carefully maintained and preserved in its original style. The quality of the wines, of exemplary consistency, places the domaine among the leading figures in Beaujolais.
