Domaines Chermette ( formerly known as Domaine du Vissoux)isrun by Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette, pioneers in the development of sustainable viticulture in Beaujolais, and is now joined by their son Jean-Étienne, who has been developing his own line under the name Jean-Étienne Chermette since 2018. 

They manage theDomaines Chermette vineyard, which spans 30 hectares—including one hectare of Chardonnay—using alternative viticulture: a middle ground between sustainable and organic farming. Whether in vineyard management or winemaking, Pierre-Marie Chermette strives to be as non-interventionist as possible. Treated with such respect, the terroir ofDomaines Chermette canexpress itself authentically in each of its cuvées.“We want to harvest healthy, fully ripe grapes to produce the most natural wine possible”—this is the philosophy that guides the estate.
The wines ofDomaines Chermette are aged in a beautiful vaulted cellar with large oak casks, built by Pierre-Marie Chermette’s great-grandfather, meticulously maintained and preserved in its original state. The quality of the wines, with exemplary consistency, elevates the estate to the forefront of Beaujolais.
