Domaines Chermette (ex Domaine du Vissoux)

Domaines Chermette ( formerly known as Domaine du Vissoux)isrun by Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette, pioneers in the development of sustainable agriculture in Beaujolais, now joined by their son Jean-Étienne, who has been developing his own range under the name Jean-Étienne Chermette since 2018. 

They manage theDomaines Chermette vineyard, which covers 30 hectares, including one hectare of Chardonnay, using alternative viticulture methods: a cross between sustainable and organic farming. Pierre-Marie Chermette seeks to intervene as little as possible in both the cultivation of the vines and the winemaking process. This respectful approachallowsthe terroir ofDomaines Chermette toexpress itself authentically in each of its vintages. "We want to obtain healthy, fully ripe grapes in order to produce the most natural wine possible"is the philosophy that prevails at the estate.
The wines ofDomaines Chermette are aged in a beautiful vaulted cellar with large oak casks, built by Pierre-Marie Chermette's great-grandfather and carefully maintained and preserved in its original state. The quality of the wines, which are consistently excellent, has made the estate one of the leading names in Beaujolais.
