Domaines Chermette (ex Domaine du Vissoux)

Domaines Chermette ( formerly known as Domaine du Vissoux)isled by Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette, pioneers in the development of sustainable viticulture in Beaujolais, and is now joined by their son Jean-Étienne, who has been developing his own line under the name Jean-Étienne Chermette since 2018. 

They manage theDomaines Chermette vineyard, which spans 30 hectares—including one hectare of Chardonnay—using alternative viticulture practices that fall between sustainable and organic farming. In both vineyard management and winemaking, Pierre-Marie Chermette strives to intervene as little as possible. By respecting the terroir in this way,Domaines Chermette’sterroircanexpress itself authentically in each of its cuvées.“We want to harvest healthy, fully ripe grapes to produce the most natural wine possible”—this is the philosophy that guides the estate.
The wines ofDomaines Chermette are aged in a beautiful vaulted cellar housing large oak casks, built by Pierre-Marie Chermette’s great-grandfather, meticulously maintained, and preserved in its original state. The quality of the wines, which is consistently exemplary, elevates the estate to the ranks of the leading producers in the Beaujolais region.
