"The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru performs very well from the bottle, offering inviting aromas of pear, green pineapple, citrus oil, white flowers, lemon cream, and fresh pastry. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, deep and well-concentrated, it is muscular and structured, with racy acids and fine reserves of dry extract. This should age with class." Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)
About the estate:
From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this large Beaune-based wine merchant founded in 1731 owns more than 142 plots covering 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of premier and grand cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage enables Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds and carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.
