Bouchard Père & Fils - Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Domaine 2009

Rating: Bettane & Desseauve 19/20, Decanter 19/20, Gault Millau 16/20, Burghound 93-96/100, Stephen Tanzer 91-93/100, Guide Hachette Vin Réussi
“As usual, Corton-Charlemagne delivers a very powerful expression, with notes of chalk, poached pear, and rubbed stone. The palate is refined and concentrated, with a subtly saline character and perceptible tannins. ” (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2011 - Gault Millau). A truly great wine for aging! • Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine shipped within France •

Rated estate (2023 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune-based wine merchant, founded in 1731, owns more than 142 plots across 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage allows Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with the majority of production coming from purchased grapes for the grand crus and from carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.
