Bouchard Père & Fils - Gevrey-Chambertin 2008

Bouchard Père & Fils - Gevrey-Chambertin 2008

Rating: Gault Millau 17.5/20, Hachette Guide Selection
“The power of the terroir is evident in its firm texture, yet it retains the house style—namely, a subtle minerality and floral notes. The spices are gentle in this wine, which strikes a balance between softness and crispness.” (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2011 - Gault Millau)

Rated estate (2023 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune-based wine merchant, founded in 1731, owns more than 142 plots across 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage allows Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with the majority of production coming from purchased grapes for the grand crus and from carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.
