"We were won over by Caillerets; it is a lovely bottle that offers concentrated yet refined substance. In addition to its sparkling fruitiness, the wine is velvety smooth." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2023 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this large Beaune-based wine merchant founded in 1731 owns more than 142 plots covering 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of premier and grand cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage enables Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds and carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.

Gault & Millau Wine Guide

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

Wine rated (2015 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good)

About wine:

The first characteristic of this young vintage is its suppleness. It has a warm texture and generous body, with floral and fruity notes and a hint of pepper—and that's it...for the best.
