Domaine Sérol

The Sérol estate is a family-run winery that has been passed down from father to son for five generations. Today, the Sérol estate comprises 32 hectares of vineyards that are fully certified organic (AB) and also biodynamic (Biodyvin).
Cultivated biodynamically on the eastern foothills of the Massif Central, near the Loire Gorges, Stéphane Sérol took over the estate in 1996. Together with his wife Carine, they cleared and replanted the land to restore the finest slopes on these high-altitude granite terroirs, situated between 400 and 500 meters. They naturally chose to plant the historic grape variety: Gamay Saint Romain. The 32 hectares of Gamay and 2 hectares of Viognier are planted at high density, and the harvest is done by hand. In the cellar, extreme rigor ensures the most natural winemaking process possible. The focus is on the range of reds, which reveal the different personalities of Gamay.
