Domaine Marcel Deiss

Domaine Marcel Deiss is a family-owned winery that has been based in Bergheim, Alsace, since 1744. Led by the talented Jean-Michel Deiss, Domaine Marcel Deiss cultivates 27 hectares of vineyards divided into 220 highly diverse plots within the Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru appellations.

The Marcel Deiss vineyard is cultivated using biodynamic methods, drawing on traditional Alsatian winemaking techniques (mixed planting, plowing, hoeing, composting, and cover cropping), without the use of herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The primary focus is on expressing the terroirs, as the estate cultivates no fewer than 220 plots, all of which are mixed-planted. The terroir-driven wines of Domaine Marcel Deiss naturally bear the hallmark of these high standards: they represent a return to the true, centuries-old Alsatian tradition—a return to the golden age.
