Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

The Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux AOC is situated on hills that stretch approximately 100 kilometers from north to south and enjoy excellent sun exposure. Overlooking the Gironde Estuary, the Blayais vineyards are set in a terroir of incredible richness. Its rolling landscapes contrast with the almost maritime horizon of the estuary’s shores: half-river, half-sea, the Gironde has shaped the history of this land. The vineyards are cultivated on the plains, on hillsides, or on high plateaus. The region enjoys 240 days of sunshine per year, and the numerous geological shifts of the past have endowed each of the terroirs across the three cantons of Blaye with its own distinct character.

AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux red wines are primarily made from the Merlot grape. These wines offer a deep color and fruity notes; they are wines meant for enjoyment. The white AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux wines are made from the Sauvignon grape variety. With a pale yellow hue, a nose marked by citrus and broom aromas, as well as a lovely liveliness and length on the palate, they are wines of intense finesse.

AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux wines are aromatic and pleasant to drink, with subtle fruit notes and supple tannins that are quite typical of this terroir.
