Domaine des Terres Dorées
is run by Jean-Paul Brun, whose stunning knack for conveying the quality of the terroir in each of his wines earns him a place among Beaujolais's greatest winegrowers.
A conscientious and passionate vigneron, Jean-Paul Brun works his Gamay and Chardonnay with the greatest care, aiming to draw out every feature of the terroir. Each vine is attentively observed from the appearance of the first buds all the way through the harvest at peak maturity, with the minimum possible intervention. Indigenous yeasts drive the fermentation in order to obtain an authentic wine. Domaine des Terres Dorées has also begun using Burgundian vinification for three small parcels of Pinot Noir, and the results are very promising.
Domaine des Terres Dorées has taken on a new challenge, in partnership with several other growers, with an eye to satisfying oenophiles looking for “true Beaujolais.” Beginning with a small selection of top parcels of Chardonnay that they vinify themselves, they have now expanded the project to include other Beaujolais crus. Their most striking successes have been with top terroirs and excellent winegrowers in Moulin-à-Vent and Côte de Brouilly.
