Vineyard rated (guide 2020) : 4****Stars (The producers of very high-quality wines, those who are the glory of the French vineyard)
About the vineyard : The large and prestigious range of wines of the House has just increased by tenant farming of the domaine Dupont-Tisserandot wines. But these will be vinified separately, while respecting the usual accuracy of extractions and very thoughtful determination of oak flavours, in a classic and harmonious style where only the terroir speaks.
Vineyard rated (guide 2020) : Wines regularly rewarded (The wines of this producer are regularly rewarded by the guide)
About the vineyard :
About the vineyard : Key player with more than 120 hectares, Faiveley is present on all the appellations of Burgundy from the Cote Chalonnaise to the Côte de Nuits. Latest acquisition: 5 hectares on the most prestigious Puligny climats (Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet...). The quality is confirmed a little more every year; the oak flavours remains discreet, extractions occur smoothly, with finesse. The young Erwan Faiveley, who represents the seventh generation, took over at the head of the House.

About the vineyard :
About the vineyard : Erwan Faiveley took over from his father early 2005 and since then, practices a quiet revolution. In 2006, he hired the former CEO of Bouchard, Bernard Hervet, who had fully met up the challenges with his previous employer. The style of wine has not changed so far. Solidly built around a dense but austere material, they are weakly colorful, with a discreet but firm fruit that appears only after aging period that can variate according to the soils. It took until the 2006 to notice a change. If the quality of oak flavours were once a little green and participated in the austere character of the wines of the estate, today they appear as toasted aromas (sometimes in a bit too linear way). Conversely, the wines offer silkier tannins than in the past.
