Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : 2**Stars (A reliable production but a little more constant and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the vineyard : This respected estate of Savigny has as strengths, outstanding plots in Corton and Corton-Charlemagne appellations, but offers excellent examples of Meursaults, Volnays and Chambolle-Musignys, with a more constant success in red wine than in white wine, where some too fast aging developments can spoil our fun. The estate intelligently reacted in 2010 by refining its bottling technique but it is clear that it can and should go further in refinement of taste and texture on its great terroirs.

About the vineyard : This estate created in 1960 by Antonin Guyon is managed today by his son Dominique, passionnated winemaker and followed by the greek oenologist, Kyriakos Kynigopoulos. Ezra, his daughter, should join him soon to participate in the day-to-day management of the estate. With 47 ha, the range is wide, with as strengths, in Côte de Nuits, a remarkable Chambolle Clos du Village and, in Côte de Beaune, four great Corton and Corton-Charlemagne.

Wine rated (guide 2011) : 17/20 (Remarquable)

Patience.

Corton-Charlemagne is a grand cru appellation in the Côte de Beaune (part of the Côte-d'Or). The appellation was established in 1937, and on wine labels its name may be followed by that of the climat (vineyard site) where the wine was grown (for example: Le Charlemagne, En Charlemagne, Pougets, Corton et Languettes). The appellation straddles the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix- ...
