Wine of Quincy appellation
The Quincy AOC is a historical appellation of the Loire Valley, which celebrated its seventy years as an AOC in 2006. The decree conferring appellation status to the wines from Quincy was issued on 6 August 1936, after extensive work had been carried out in the area selecting the Sauvignon. Quincy was the first recognised AOC in the Loire Valley.

The historical birthplace of the Sauvignon Blanc, Quincy has homogeneous soils. Located mainly on the left bank of the River Cher, upstream of Vierzon, the vineyards cover 270 hectares. The predominantly sand and gravel soils rest on clayey-gravel over Berry lacustrine limestone.

The Quincy AOC only applies to dry white wines made from the Sauvignon Blanc. Quincys are fine wines that are distinctive for their citrus aromas with hints of white flowers and pepper. White wine lovers will find Quincy's typical characteristics fully reflected in the wines from Domaine du Tremblay.
