Note : Robert Parker 91/100
» (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)

Wine Advocate - Robert Parker

Wine rated (guide 2015) : 91/100 (Vin formidable)
Vineyard rated : Recommended (Winery recommended by the Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

About this wine : An estate that continues to ratchet up the quality level in all of their cuvées, Domaine Maby's 2014 Lirac la Fermade Rose is a smoking blend of 70% Cinsault and 30% Grenache that spent 6 months in stainless steel. It has terrific notes of wild strawberries, salty minerality and assorted floral nuances to go with a medium-bodied, rounded, textured, yet beautifully fresh and pure style on the palate. It has the class to drink nicely on its own, but should shine on the dinner table with food. Give the depth here, I suspect this will have a more Tavel type of evolution, showing best in another couple of months, and then have 1-2 years or longevity. It's also more than reasonably priced, so don't miss grabbing a few of these.

Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : 3***Stars (A production of high-quality, that could be used as a reference in its area)

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : Wines regularly rewarded (The wines of this producer are regularly rewarded by the guide)

Renowned since ancient times, the wines from Lirac brought prosperity to the region. Over the centuries, the port of Roquemaure became powerful and prosperous, exporting "Côte du Rhône" wines to Paris, England and the Netherlands. The wines of Lirac were decreed an AOC in 1947. Set out in terraces and hills, the Lirac vineyards nestle on the right bank of the Rhône facing those of ...
