« The 2012 Monte Hiniesta has a nose of black fruit and spices quite recognizable as Tempranillo, with the aromas from the wood well-integrated with the fruit and a medium-bodied palate. Some would say it’s a lighter style of Toro, which is quite welcomed, with fine tannins if quite abundant, clean and well-balanced. » (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker)

Wine Advocate - Robert Parker

Wine rated (guide 2014) : 90/100 (Vin formidable)
Vineyard rated : Recommended (Winery recommended by the Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

The origin of the wines of Toro pre-dates the colonization of Spain by the Romans. In the Middle Ages and later, Toro filled the royal cellars and ships bound for the New World. In the 19th century, large quantities were exported to France to fill the void left by Phylloxera. Toro obtained the legal protection of the famous "Designation of Origin" status in 1987.  Toro wines are ...
